Dr. Kelly Goeckner was born in San Jose, California but raised in Wilmington, North Carolina. Loyal to the Wolfpack, she attended North Carolina State University where she played varsity volleyball. Dr. Goeckner graduated summa cum laude with her Bachelors of Science in Chemistry, Bachelors of Science in Polymer and Color Chemistry and a minor in Economics. She received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery with distinction from the Unviersity of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. There, she received the Kramer Award of Excellence for demonstrating scholarship, character and the potential promise for advancement of dentistry and a year later was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honors Society. She earned her Certificate of Orthodontics and a Master of Science in Orthodontics at the University of Michigan and is a board certified orthodontist through the American Board of Orthodontics. She is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Southern Association of Orthodontists and North Carolina Association of Orthodontists, currently serving as Middle Director.
Aside from helping patients choose color ties and singing to the radio, Dr. Kelly Goeckner enjoys being outdoors and spending time with her husband (David), son (William) and daughter (Caroline). She loves to play all types of sports and you can often find her at the YMCA. She and her family are parishoners of St. Therese Catholic Church.
Born in Wilson, Dr. Gibbons grew up here and graduated from Fike High School. After completing undergraduate school at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, he then received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from The Dental School at UNC. He then continued his education at the Dental School in Chapel Hill receiving his masters in orthodontics in 1982. Shortly thereafter, he and his wife Becky, moved to Wilson and Dr.Gibbons opened his practice in August of 1982. He has been in private Practice specializing in orthodontics since that time. His first office was in the Walston Center near downtown Wilson, and in 1989 he moved to his present location on Point Drive.
Dr. Gibbons has three children which are his main “hobby.” He has spent much of his free time involved in their activities as much as possible. He is also active in his church, First United Methodist Church, teaching Sunday School to middle school age children since 1982. Since his return to Wilson, he has also been on the board of the United Way, the Chamber of Commerce, Wilson Education Partnership, and Salvation Army. Dr. Gibbons feels “Wilson is a wonderful place to live and raise a family and my wife and I are very happy to be here.”
